Mission Matters: December 6, 2016
This week’s “Parish Table Talk”: New Auxiliary Bishops for Baltimore; GIVEN; Young adult ministry forum; plus this Thursday’s blog post.
Watch for this Thursday’s Post:
Give Without Counting the Cost by Deacon Seigfried Presberry, Director of the Office of Prison Ministry
• New Auxiliary Bishops for Baltimore: On December 5, Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Mark E. Brennan and Monsignor Adam J. Parker Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Bishop-elect Parker currently serves as Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. As Archbishop Lori put it during a press conference at the Catholic Center, “This is truly an early Christmas gift from the Pope.”
• GIVEN: Unveiling the Mystery of Marriage: This Saturday, December 10, the Office of Marriage and Family Life will hold a day of inspiring talks, energizing music, and real conversations for dating, married, and engaged couples. There’s still time for your parishioners to register! GIVEN will take place at St. William of York, Baltimore, MD. Click here for information on registration and FAQs.
• Engaging our Young Adults: The gap that exists between high school and marriage has left many young adults in our Archdiocese without a a faith-based community. With the goal of continuing a dialogue about young adult ministry, the USCCB’s National Forum on Ministry with Young Adults was held last week in San José. Consider looking into these resources to learn more about these individuals and don’t hesitate to reach out to the Division of Youth and Young Adult Ministry with your questions and suggestions.
