Mission Matters: July 18, 2017

This week’s “Parish Table Talk”: Isaiah’s Promise; MCWC; plus Transitions.

Parish Table Talk

•  Isaiah’s Promise: With the advances in medical technology, parents are able to know more about their child’s health and well-being as her or she develops in the womb. There are some families who receive adverse prenatal diagnoses. Isaiah’s Promise (www.isaiahspromise.net) is a ministry to families that have experienced adverse prenatal diagnoses. In this video, you will hear the stories of families who found hope in cherishing their child’s life for as long as they had them, and found support in Isaiah’s Promise’s ministry.

•  Maryland Catholic Women’s Conference: As fall calendars begin to fill, spread the word to women of your parish to register for the 2017 Maryland Catholic Women’s Conference.  They can attend all weekend or just for the day Saturday.  Keynotes from Sr. Helena Burns, Jon Leonetti, Bishop Brennan and Archbishop Lori.  Share this flyer with the women’s groups in your parish, and encourage them to register early for the reduced price.

Transitions

We welcome Chris Duck as our new Coordinator of Deaf Ministry. He comes with many years of experience working at the Maryland School for the Deaf. He has served on advisory committees or commissions advocating for the needs of the disabled, specifically individuals who are deaf, and has been active in ministry within the Church. He has served as an American Sign Language interpreter for the Church of the Resurrection and the Archdiocese for many years.

We are very grateful to Sue Gudenkauf and the work she has done and continues to do for the deaf community in the Archdiocese of Baltimore!
