• Ecumenical and Interfaith Commemoration – MLK, Jr.: Archbishop Lori will be hosting an Ecumenical and Interfaith Prayer Service for the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 12, 2018 at Cathedral Mary our Queen at 7pm. The featured guest will be Rev. Dr. Raphael Gamaliel Warnock, Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. This historic church was the spiritual home of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. This will be an important evening. Please spread the word.
• The Institute of Catholic Culture: Are you looking for some free resources for adult catechesis? The Institute of Catholic Culture is an apostolate dedicated to adult catechesis. The Institute offers hundreds of hours of free catechetical material on a range of subject from philosophy to theology to liturgy to prayer. There are set curricula that can be followed or chosen by topic or interest. It is very simple to get signed up and to start learning today.
• The Injustice of Family Breakdown: This interesting article called ‘The Injustice of Family Breakdown’ summarizes the effects of the breakdown of family life on the generations after the 1960s and 1970s detailed in a book by Robert Putnam. The very stark realities brought up in this article show the important role families play as the stable foundation of society. This article, and others, that can be found at this site, can be a good resource for small group discussion and reflection.
• Maryland March for Life guest speaker: Last night was the 40th Annual Maryland March for Life, the largest human rights march on Annapolis. Hundreds of Marylanders came out to show their dedication to the defense of life from conception to natural death. The special guest speaker, Roland Warren, President and CEO of Care Net – a network of pregnancy centers – spoke about his personal story with his wife and their unplanned pregnancy, about the sanctity of life and marriage going hand-in-hand, and how God can use an unplanned pregnancy to draw a mother and father closer to Jesus Christ.
