Mission Matters: Nov. 29, 2016

This week’s “Parish Table Talk”: Best Advent Ever; Evangelizing for Christmas; Outrageous Justice; plus this Thursday’s blog post.

Watch for this Thursday’s Post:

Gifts: Received and Given  by Deacon Bill Fleming, Director of the Office of Special Needs Ministry

Best Advent Ever: Just like last year’s free email program, Best Lent Ever®, this resource for your parishioners works by sending daily inspirational emails to their inbox with a short video featuring Matthew Kelly and a member of the Dynamic Catholic Team. A simple way to stay focused. For more information and for signing up, visit the Best Advent Ever® website.

•  Evangelizing for Christmas: A Catholic writer shares some thoughts on using the Church calendar to evangelize. How can you seize the opportunity of the Christmas season to bring members of your community into an encounter with Christ? What plans are you making for an evangelizing Christmas?  Here are a few ideas from a non-Catholic perspective. Number two, three, and six might be a good start.

• Outrageous Justice:  Participate in this engaging, 6-week study developed by Prison Fellowship. You will learn about the challenges in the American criminal justice system and explore how Christians can respond in hands-on ways to bring about true hope, restoration, and healing. Meetings will take place on Sunday evenings starting January 8th at The Wilde Lake Interfaith Center. Registration is limited and there is no cost for enrollment. Contact Mary Pat Donelan at marypatd@verizon.net for more details.
